Recently, Samsung disclosed the pricing and pre-order information for its 2024 TV lineup in South Korea. Following this, the company has unveiled promotional activities ahead of the launch of its new TVs in its domestic market.
Samsung conducted its ‘Unbox & Discover 2024’ launch event in South Korea to unveil its latest QLED, Neo QLED, and OLED TVs. The event took place at the multipurpose hall of the Samsung Electronics Seocho building, situated in Seocho-dong, Seoul. The new TVs from Samsung boast upgraded processors, an updated version of the Tizen operating system, and enhanced audio and video processing powered by AI technology.
The NQ8 AI Gen 2 processor, which drives the latest 4K and 8K Neo QLED TVs, is equipped with 512 neural networks. This represents a significant advancement over the previous year’s processors, boasting eight times as many neural networks. Additionally, the NPU of this chipset operates twice as fast as its predecessor. Samsung has enhanced Samsung TV Plus to provide increased personalized content directly on the home screen, along with expanded on-demand TV offerings. The updated Tizen OS introduces user profiles, enabling tailored recommended content for each user.
The new processor enables even low-resolution content to be upscaled to 8K resolution, resulting in crisper visuals. With the Contrast Enhancer Pro feature, neural networks detect subjects within a scene and apply enhancements to specific objects and individuals to create a greater sense of depth. The ‘AI Motion Enhancement Pro’ feature ensures smooth correction of movement, particularly noticeable in sports content.
Moreover, the Active Voice Pro function analyzes sound emanating from various objects within a video frame and prioritizes amplifying human voices. Meanwhile, the Moving Sound Pro feature optimizes sound related to on-screen movement, enhancing the overall sense of realism.
Samsung’s latest Neo QLED 8K TVs showcase the Infinite Air Design, featuring an ultra-premium metal stand crafted from thin, metal-like material, giving the impression of the screen floating in mid-air.
